Samsung Steps into the Metaverse
Samsung Electronics America has undertaken a partnership with Decentraland to open a virtual Samsung store in the metaverse. The virtual version of the store is a replica of the company’s flagship store at 873 Washington St in New York City’s Meatpacking District. The virtual store, dubbed Samsung 873X, will be open in Decentraland for a limited time only, according to a press release from the company:
Users will be invited to explore an “experiential playground” and earn non-fungible token (NFT) rewards by completing quests. The store will offer digital adventures through three areas:

the Customisation Stage, where guests will get to experience a mixed reality live dance party hosted by DJ Gamma Vives from Samsung’s physical 873 store.
Michelle Crossan-Matos, senior vice-president of corporate marketing and communications at Samsung Electronics, said in a statement:
The metaverse empowers us to transcend physical and spatial limits to create unique virtual experiences that could not happen otherwise.
According to Samsung, “In 2022, Samsung is introducing the world’s first TV screen-based NFT explorer and marketplace aggregator, a groundbreaking platform that lets you browse, purchase and display your favourite art – all in one place.”

During unprecedented times such as the Covid-19 pandemic, large gatherings of people have had to come up with creative ways to remain safe and still enjoy themselves. New York City’s iconic New Year’s Eve Ball Drop is just one major event to have suffered the perils of the pandemic.
The virtual event, dubbed ‘MetaFest 2022‘, will include non-fungible token (NFT) art galleries, rooftop VIP lounges, and virtual musical performances. Virtual billboards will tie the experience to the event’s metaverse counterpart via live streams from New York City.
NYE Comes to Decentraland
On December 29, DCG and Jamestown announced their intention to recreate a significant cultural site within the metaverse – One Times Square. The 26-storey building in the heart of Manhattan’s Times Square is home to the annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop celebration, now limited to 15,000 socially distanced and fully vaccinated attendees due to a rise in the number of Covid cases in New York.
According to Simon Koster, DCG’s head of real estate, “This event highlights how virtual events can cohesively integrate with real ones in an effort to bring once-in-a-lifetime experiences to so many that would have never been able to participate otherwise.”
‘MetaFest2022’ is not the first event to take to the metaverse. As also reported this week by Crypto News Australia, a new project called Animal Concerts is building a virtual touring company to host VR live music events in the metaverse.
“The metaverse is an important part of the evolution of real estate and the built environment,” said Jamestown president Michael Phillips. “Whereas physical real estate is largely limited to people with geographic proximity, the metaverse can give people around the world meaningful access to places through immersive virtual experiences.”
To join in on the experience, users can create personalised avatars and explore the Times Square Plaza.

The US National Football League (NFL) is now attaching non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to its tickets, adding them as “virtual commemorative tickets” that will be automatically sent to fans’ Ticketmaster wallets moments after attending live games.
NFL Makes Plays into the Cryptosphere
The NFL has officially launched NFTs to replace ticket stubs for its fictures, at least for the remainder of matches this year. The league announced that fans who attend games through to the end of 2021 will be able to receive a “virtual commemorative ticket” (VCT) as an NFT in a Ticketmaster digital wallet. Virtual tickets will be live on the Polygon network.
The first VCT game took place on November 7 when the 49ers played the Cardinals, and the next event is scheduled for Thanksgiving for the Detroit Lions/Chicago Bears match. The announcement of NFL NFTs comes just two months after the league prohibited teams from selling NFTs and engaging in sponsorships from crypto trading firms.
Some Users Critical of Download Format
NFT club business development senior vice-president Bobby Gallo has said:
Leveraging the emerging world of NFTs is a new and exciting way for us to create additional value and to further engage with fans who attend select games by providing a virtual commemorative ticket. There is no better time than the upcoming holiday season to kick off this fun and engaging fan experience, starting with the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day matchup.
For fans to claim their NFTs, they need to have bought their match tickets through one of the licensed NFL Ticketing Network vendors – either Ticketmaster, SrubHub, SeatGeek, or a team’s corresponding ticket office.
However, some users are not entirely happy with the download format of NFL NFTs. Sportswriter Jacob Feldman took to Twitter to express his irritation:

Welcome to this weekly series from the TradeRoom. My name is Dave and I’m the founder of The Crypto Den, an Australian-based crypto trading and education community aiming to give you the knowledge to take your trading game to the next level.
We’ve seen a bit of a pullback in price action in the market over the past four days, which isn’t a bad thing. Last week the total crypto market cap reached US$3 trillion for the first time in history and has since pulled back to the US$2.7 trillion mark, which could be seen as a new level of “Support”. It’s currently sitting at US$2.8 trillion.
In last week’s article I mentioned BTC forming a symmetrical triangle which, as a general rule, has a 70% chance of breaking out to the upside. As you’ll see below, BTC did have a bullish break into a new all-time high (ATH) and has since reversed with some bearish price action to what we call a retest zone. What goes up, must come down … and that’s the same for financial markets. Nothing continues to go up without having some downs along the way.
BTC is retesting a new level of support after retracing in the 61.8% golden pocket. This is actually a bullish signal and could simply indicate a new market structure to launch from! We still expect BTC to reach US$78,000 soon.
Last Week’s Performance
MANA/USDT
Last week I mentioned the coin to watch was MANA (Decentraland) as the bullish momentum was just too good to ignore. It’s seen price action increase 57% and currently retracing. It seems to be bouncing from the 50% fib level at the time of writing and could see the 61.8% fib before a continuation up again. In the TradeRoom there’s been a lot of chatter around these Metaverse coins/tokens, and the sentiment is very bullish!
CHR/USDT
An amazing trade taken last week by one of our TradeRoom legends – “TypeGuy” – was on CHR (another Metaverse token). I’ve recreated his chart below. You can see see price action retraced to the trend line, then painted a bullish engulfing candle leading to a breakout. TypeGuy trades this on 10x leverage yielding him over 300% ROI. CHR did 76% on spot in only two days! That’s what I call a killer trade! TypeGuy has become an extremely consistent trader in TradeRoom after completing our trading course and shares a massive amount of his charts every week!
This Week’s Trades
BTC/USD
As mentioned above, BTC has seen a healthy pullback in price action and retraced back to that golden pocket. Forming a higher low (HL) on the 4H chart and breaking out the new market structure is VERY bullish so far. A big bullish engulfing candle was forming at the time of writing this and if this momentum can continue, we will surely see a break well above US$70,000 this week!
ETH/USD
If BTC follows the bullish path, ETH won’t be far behind. Currently in a falling wedge (bullish continuation pattern) and having had a “triple bottom” in that golden pocket, ETH looks really bullish! We would expect to see US$5,000 ETH this week if this plays out well!
LTC/USD
Another big top 10 to watch is LTC. Litecoin is usually either late to the party or early, but it’s rarely on time! What I mean by this is that sometimes it leads the way in price action, beating other top 10 coins to the punch, or it gets totally left behind to do its own thing and show up late again.
This time LTC has shown up early. Pushing out of the falling wedge we expect to see a slight and short-lived pullback before continuing up. I’m getting a Fibonacci target of US$350.
It’s important to remember that when trading ALT coins, their price action is heavily dependent on BTC. If BTC takes a bullish path, ALTs will likely follow. If BTC turns bearish, then ALTs will likely dump in price even harder!
