Top 3 Coins to Watch Today: AVAX, EGLD, RUNE – April 21 Trading Analysis

Let’s take a closer look at today’s altcoins showing breakout signals. We’ll explain what the coin is, then dive into the trading charts and provide some analysis to help you decide.

1. Avalanche (AVAX)

Avalanche AVAX is the fastest smart contracts platform in the blockchain industry, as measured by time-to-finality, and has the most validators securing its activity of any proof-of-stake protocol. Avalanche is blazingly fast, low-cost, and green. Any smart contract-enabled application can outperform its competition on Avalanche. AVAX is the native token of Avalanche. It is a hard-capped, scarce asset that is used to pay for fees, secure the platform through staking, and provide a basic unit of account between the multiple subnets created on Avalanche.

AVAX Price Analysis

At the time of writing, AVAX is ranked the 10th cryptocurrency globally and the current price is US$78.44. Let’s take a look at the chart below for price analysis:

Source: TradingView

AVAX‘s 60% gains during Q1 ended with an almost 25% retracement as the rest of the altcoin market dropped in early April. Bulls stepped in near the 50.8% retracement of Q2’s move, creating a consolidation that ended with last week’s bullish impulse to resistance near $97.35.

With the 9, 18 and 40 EMAs stacked bullish and a bullish higher-timeframe trend, it’s reasonable to anticipate retracement to possible support before further bullish expansion.

Near the 40 EMA, a broad zone from $73.15 to $68.45 could see interest from bulls before further expansion. If this level fails, bears might capitalise on any sharp moves down in Bitcoin, aiming for possible support near the 65% retracement, at $64.70, and potentially lower to a higher-timeframe support zone between $60.42 and $57.80.

If the higher-timeframe bullish trend resumes and the current resistance near $99.35 breaks, the wicks near $120.84 and the new monthly highs might see profit-taking.

2. Elrond (EGLD)

Elrond EGLD is a blockchain protocol that seeks to offer extremely fast transaction speeds by using sharding. The project describes itself as a technology ecosystem for the new internet, which includes fintech, decentralised finance, and the Internet of Things. Its smart contracts execution platform is reportedly capable of 15,000 transactions per second, six-second latency, and a $0.001 transaction cost. The blockchain has a native token known as eGold, or EGLD, that is used for paying network fees, staking, and rewarding validators.

EGLD Price Analysis

At the time of writing, EGLD is ranked the 39th cryptocurrency globally and the current price is US$162.73. Let’s take a look at the chart below for price analysis:

Source: TradingView

EGLD‘s 60% rally during March reversed with many other coins in April, retracing nearly 35%.

Just above the current price and near the April weekly open, $190.68 could provide resistance before a downward move. This level has confluence with the 18 EMA.

Bears might consider $169.94 as a higher probability resistance to hunt shorts for a longer swing downward. However, higher-timeframe charts suggest that the price could reach $153.45 at the top of an inefficiently traded area before any future bearish breakdowns.

Resistance might also rest near $210.45, above the 2022 yearly open. However, the price is less likely to reach this level unless the overall market starts a bullish swing.

The price is finding support between $150.44 and $143.586. This zone might continue to hold, while overlapping higher-timeframe levels from $138.44 to $135.81 could provide the most substantial support inside this area.

3. THORChain (RUNE)

ThorChain RUNE is a decentralised liquidity protocol that allows users to easily exchange cryptocurrency assets across a range of networks without losing full custody of their assets in the process. The native utility token of the THORChain platform is RUNE. This is used as the base currency in the THORChain ecosystem, and is also used for platform governance and security as part of THORChain’s Sybil resistance mechanisms – since THORChain nodes must commit a minimum of 1 million RUNE to participate in its rotating consensus process.

RUNE Price Analysis

At the time of writing, RUNE is ranked the 44th cryptocurrency globally and the current price is US$9.14. Let’s take a look at the chart below for price analysis:

Source: TradingView

RUNE abruptly rallied after retracing nearly 83% from its November highs, climbing 128% from its late February low.

Bulls are currently taking profits in a contested area between $9.28 and $9.13. This area saw inefficient trading on higher timeframes. It could serve as support if the price trades through its high end and retests it – or as resistance if the price breaks back below.

The closest support rests just below, near $8.31. The old high at this level could support a rally into resistance near $9.52.

A move through the closest resistance might target the consolidation midpoint near $10.40, near the 27% extension of the current rally. If this level breaks, bulls might target an inefficient area near $12.38 and beyond.

If the price rejects from this level and breaks the closest support, it could find support near the midpoint of the current range and 2022 yearly open, near $7.98. The price might also find support slightly below near the 61.8% retracement level, around $7.28.

Top 3 Coins to Watch Today: ZIL, SC, AVAX – March 28 Trading Analysis

Let’s take a closer look at today’s altcoins showing breakout signals. We’ll explain what the coin is, then dive into the trading charts and provide some analysis to help you decide.

1. Zilliqa (ZIL)

Zilliqa ZIL is a public, permissionless blockchain designed to offer high throughput with the ability to complete thousands of transactions per second. It seeks to solve the issue of blockchain scalability and speed by employing sharding as a second-layer scaling solution. The platform is home to many decentralised applications, and it also allows for staking and yield farming. The native utility token of Zilliqa, ZIL, is used to process transactions on the network and execute smart contracts.

ZIL Price Analysis

At the time of writing, ZIL is ranked the 70th cryptocurrency globally and the current price is US$0.1134. Let’s take a look at the chart below for price analysis:

Source: TradingView

ZIL‘s 60% drop during Q1 found a low near $0.04138 before closing over a weekly high around $0.09872.

This daily close over the high could signal a shift in market structure that might reach probable resistance near $0.1237. A sustained bullish move may target the swing high at $0.1364. If this stop run occurs, a run beyond the high into probable resistance near $0.1588 and $0.1645 is possible.

Bulls could buy a retracement to possible support near $0.1058, just above the weekly open. A bearish turn in the marketplace may propel the price toward possible support near $0.09536.

However, relatively equal lows near $0.08934 and $0.08824 provide an attractive target for bears if the market resumes its bearish trend. A run on these lows might find support between $0.08615 and $0.08566.

2. Siacoin (SC)

Siacoin SC is the native utility token of Sia, a blockchain-based distributed, decentralised cloud storage platform. Sia acts as a secure, trustless marketplace for cloud storage in which users can lease access to their unused storage space. Agreements and transactions are enforced with smart contracts, and Siacoin is the medium of exchange for paying for storage on the network. The main goal of the project is to become the “backbone storage layer of the internet”.

SC Price Analysis

At the time of writing, SC is ranked the 120th cryptocurrency globally and the current price is US$0.01177. Let’s take a look at the chart below for price analysis:

Source: TradingView

After a 70% decline from December, SC has ranged between $0.008723 and $0.01165.

The recent rally is approaching probable resistance near $0.01290 but could be aiming for stops above the relatively equal highs near $0.01430. Continuation of the bullish move could target the daily gap near $0.01624.

Aggressive bulls might add to positions near $0.01130 and $0.01094. Price action near $0.01012 may be more likely to provide support – if the price reaches it – during any retracements.

Relatively equal lows clustered around $0.009743 seem likely to be swept if the bearish trend resumes. If this move occurs, the price might find support at the significant higher-timeframe level near $0.009375.

At the time of writing, AVAX is ranked the 10th cryptocurrency globally and the current price is US$86.06. Let’s take a look at the chart below for price analysis:

Source: TradingView

AVAX‘s 55% gains in February ended with an almost 25% retracement as the rest of the altcoin market dropped during early March. Bulls stepped in near the 51.8% retracement of Q4’s move, creating a consolidation that ended with last week’s bullish impulse to resistance near $89.35.

With the 9, 18 and 40 EMAs stacked bullish and a bullish higher-timeframe trend, it’s reasonable to anticipate retracement to possible support before further bullish expansion.

Near the 40 EMA, a broad zone from $70.15 to $67.45 could see interest from bulls before further expansion. If this level fails, bears might capitalise on any sharp moves down in Bitcoin, aiming for possible support near the 65% retracement, at $63.74, and potentially lower to a higher-timeframe support zone between $58.42 and $55.73.

If the higher-timeframe bullish trend resumes and the current resistance near $97.35 breaks, the wicks near $109.84 and the new monthly highs might see profit-taking.

Avalanche Launches $290 Million Program to Support ‘Multiverse’ Development

Avalanche (AVAX) has committed a whopping US$290 million, or 4 million AVAX tokens, as an incentive to attract gaming, DeFi and NFT ‘Subnets’ to its platform. The goal of the “Multiverse” incentive fund is to create a network of application-specific blockchains according to a press release on its Medium page.

Multiverse an ‘Ongoing Initiative’

The Avalanche Multiverse will be an ongoing initiative with no specified end date, along with six phases to support various projects, according to the foundation. Subnets, also known as subnetworks, are validators that allow others to establish their own Layer 1 or Layer 2 blockchains on Avalanche. Because Avalanche is proof-of-stake, projects can become validators staking $AVAX tokens.

DeFi Kingdoms, a play-to-earn game built atop the Ethereum sidechain Harmony, has created its own Avalanche subnet as part of the multiverse initiative, along with a new Avalanche-native token, $CRYSTAL.

The entire DeFi Kingdoms universe is written into smart contracts, pushing the envelope of what is possible with blockchain technology. We began looking very early on for technology that could help us scale and introduce new features like using our native tokens for gas fees, without sacrificing security or decentralisation. Avalanche’s revolutionary subnet technology is the perfect fit.

Frisky Fox, executive director, DeFi Kingdoms

Ava Labs, which helps drive the development of Avalanche, has partnered with Aave, Golden Tree Asset Management, Wintermute, Jump Crypto, Valkyrie, and Securitize to build the subnet. Participants will need to undergo know-your-customer (KYC) checks, allowing traditional financial institutions to build on the blockchain.

Stani Kulechov, founder and CEO of Aave, said in a statement: “Avalanche Subnets enable us to create an ideal environment for institutions to migrate on-chain.” He added: “This is a significant leap toward a future where the barriers between traditional and decentralised finance cease to exist.”

According to Emin Gün Sirer, director of the Avalanche Foundation, “Subnets will be the next growth engine in crypto, enabling novel functionality only possible with network-level control and open experimentation on a scale we haven’t yet seen.”

Avalanche Rife with Issues of Late

In September last year, Avalanche DeFi project Vee Finance lost over US$35 million in a hack. In late February, the Avalanche-based DeFi protocol “polite” rug pulled investors and the protocol was shut down within the first day of its launch.

Top 3 Coins to Watch Today: AVAX, ALGO, AXS – March 4 Trading Analysis

At the time of writing, AVAX is ranked the 10th cryptocurrency globally and the current price is US$77.80. Let’s take a look at the chart below for price analysis:

Source: TradingView

AVAX‘s 70% rally in January ended with an almost 35% retracement as the rest of the altcoin market dropped. Bulls stepped in near the 61.8% retracement of Q4’s move, creating a consolidation that ended with last week’s bullish impulse to resistance near $86.35.

With the 9, 18, and 40 EMAs stacked bullish and a bullish higher-timeframe trend, it’s reasonable to anticipate retracement to possible support before further bullish expansion.

Near the 40 EMA, a broad zone from $68.12 to $65.35 could see interest from bulls before further expansion. If this level fails, bears might capitalise on any sharp moves down in Bitcoin, aiming for possible support near the 80% retracement, at $61.54, and potentially lower to a higher-timeframe support zone between $57.82 and $54.77.

If the higher-timeframe bullish trend resumes and the current resistance near $93.35 breaks, the wicks near $105.84 and the new monthly highs might see profit-taking.

2. Algorand (ALGO)

The Algorand ALGO blockchain is a permissionless, pure proof-of-stake blockchain protocol. Unlike proof-of-work (PoW) blockchains, where the root block must be validated by randomly selected validators (using computing power), in the pure proof-of-stake approach all of the validators are known to one another and only have to agree on the next block in order to create a new block. Algorand was invented to speed up transactions and improve efficiency in response to the slow transaction times of Bitcoin and other blockchains.

ALGO Price Analysis

At the time of writing, ALGO is ranked the 29th cryptocurrency globally and the current price is US$0.7967. Let’s take a look at the chart below for price analysis:

Source: TradingView

After creating a second equal low during February, ALGO gained nearly 22% into resistance that starts near $0.9122.

Swing traders looking for a continuation to the nearest cluster of relatively equal highs around $1.10 might look for bids near $1.05. More significant resistance rests above, near $1.15. A group of significant swing highs at $1.21 and $1.25 give possible targets if this resistance breaks.

A stop run on the recent low at $0.7460 into possible support beginning near $0.6830 might see stronger bidding. This area also has a confluence with the recent monthly lows.

3. Axie Infinity (AXS)

Axie Infinity AXS is a blockchain-based trading and battling game that is partially owned and operated by its players. The Axie Infinity ecosystem has its own unique governance token, known as Axie Infinity Shards AXS. These are used to participate in key governance votes and will give holders a say in how funds in the Axie Community Treasury are spent.

AXS Price Analysis

At the time of writing, AXS is ranked the 40th cryptocurrency globally and the current price is US$52.62. Let’s take a look at the chart below for price analysis:

Source: TradingView

AXS‘s relatively small 25% range could suggest that a larger move is setting up in February.

Aggressive bulls could look for entries at the most recent area of support formed near $49.22. However, equal lows near $45.12 make a tempting target for a stop run into this support. This move could reach support near $42.67.

A decisive move to the downside could run stops below the second set of relatively equal lows near $40.23, possibly reaching support at an old swing high and a daily gap near $38.58.

A recent level near $58.84 provided resistance and caused a recent swing high to form near $63.88, offering first targets. A move through this high may arrive at new monthly high levels near $68.31 and $75.30.

Smart Contract Platform AVAX Bounces Back, Up 80% from January Lows

Avalanche (AVAX) has managed to rally its price up by 80 percent after last month’s lows. AVAX’s recovery now extends into its third week, mainly due to similar upside movement across the top crypto assets.

AVAX, a layer-1 smart contract platform built by Ava Labs, is a proprietary proof-of-stake blockchain that is Ethereum-compatible and allows developers to build and deploy dApps on the platform. On February 3, it rallied almost 16 percent to reach US$96.50, its best performance since January 14.

The massive single-day growth has been attributed as part of a recovery that began in earnest on January 22 after Avalanche’s token AVAX hit a low of US$53. Extrapolating from this data, AVAX’s net rebound has totalled more than 80 percent.

Big Thaw for ‘Crypto Winter’

Since the beginning of 2022, crypto markets have plummeted as investors assessed the US Federal Reserve’s monetary tightening prospect. AVAX, like many other coins, had lost 65 percent in value in what is now being termed as a potential “crypto winter”, after reaching a record high price of above US$150 in November.

However, the market has recovered almost half its losses after bottoming out in late January, pushing projects such as AVAX to recover. Added to this, AVAX’s price also rose as Avalanche – as a standalone blockchain project – reported massive network growth at 2021’s close.

Late last year, AVAX soared after news of a partnership with the world’s biggest accounting firm, Deloitte, and also skyrocketed after completing a US$230 million investment round.

AVAX Climbs the Leaderboard

Avalanche saw a rise in the number of its daily active addresses to 70,000 per day in Q4 2021 versus 10,000 per day in Q3. AVAX has also ascended the blockchain leaderboard as billions of dollars of investor capital return to the project and it sees a 714 percent rise in the TVL (total value locked). AVAX now has US$10.48 billion in TVL, giving it the fastest growth among its competitors within the layer-1 and layer-2 categories – after the arrival of leading Ethereum protocols Aave and Curve into its ecosystem.
